How Performance Met Affordability

After over 10 years away from playing pool, our founder returned to the game he loved excited to compete again at a high amateur level.
A great deal had changed, most notably the overwhelming shift to carbon fiber shafts.
After playing a tournament with a friend’s carbon fiber shaft, he quickly fell in love with the solid hit, the accuracy and the consistency.
The only thing he couldn’t get over was the price.
When he left the game, you could get a really solid playing cue for 3-$500. Now cue companies were charging $400, $500 even $600 for just a shaft. Something didn’t sit right. Was it really that much more expensive to produce a quality Carbon Fiber shaft than a quality Wood shaft?
As a serial entrepreneur, he set out to find the answer. The first place he turned to better understand the material and production process was to his good friend and aerospace engineer.
After a couple of months of research, they found that Legacy companies (who had set the market) were charging an astronomical mark-up on their Carbon Fiber shafts. Likely in an effort to offset costs associated with sponsorships, unnecessary artistic design features that don’t improve play, and dealer markups built into their traditional legacy business model.
Together they set out to disrupt the cue market through a direct to consumer business model that allowed the delivery of Premium, Modern, High Performance Pool Cues without the unnecessary markups players were being forced to absorb by the Legacy Companies.
On January 2nd, 2024 CRBN Cues was born, and we’re on a mission to provide exceptional equipment, incredible value, an unprecedented customer experience, and positively impact your game and the whole game of pool in the process.
